My family has been in Durham for 3 generations. My great Uncles Cary and Deck Holland opened Holland Brothers Furniture in 1918 in Durham, on Main Street. They operated their store for 60 years, and they would not recognize the city now!
In 2008, after 30 years raising two sons with my wife and working as a financial advisor at First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, I retired. My love for real estate spurred me to pursue a NC Appraiser's License while earning my license as a NC Real Estate Broker. I now dedicate my time to working with buyers and sellers of residential property in NC, with a special focus on the Durham area I love so much.
As I child in the Midwest, I was creative. Drawing and imagining is what I did - and went to NYC to do - and still do in NC! But with two realtor parents, real estate was a slow simmer as well.
Today, as a residential interior designer and realtor in Durham, the merge of services feels just right as I help sellers create an environment to draw their ideal buyer. My nest is in a historical downtown Durham tobacco loft, with my two teenagers and cat. I'm proudly affiliated with New Durham Realty, because I love all that is Durham after 17 years here. And to read about my designing life, visit Heather Garrett Interior Design. Here's to making the world more beautiful!
Did someone say coffee? No? Guess I just imagined it. Anyway, coffee shops are one of the places I enjoy spending time with clients as I help them buy or sell their home. I am dedicated to working to meet your needs, no matter your situation or budget, and can help you with the questions you need answered most.
I moved to Durham in 2017, and fell in love with the city - the food, the entertainment, and, yes, the coffee. When my husband and I were searching for our first house together, we worked with New Durham Realty and found our dream home in Mebane. I am thrilled to join the NDR team as an agent, representing New Mebane Realty, helping buyers find their dream home - in or out of the “positively charming” city of Mebane.
